The work
- Administer, configure and develop Oracle and/or PostgreSQL databases.
- Maintain database availability, backups and recovery.
- Configure monitoring, investigate incidents and optimise performance.
- Automate routine operations and take part in data migrations.
Role-specific skills
- Commercial database administration experience.
- Practical experience with Oracle and/or PostgreSQL.
- Confident use of SQL.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving database errors and incidents.
- Experience configuring high availability and recovery strategies.
- Experience managing database user permissions.
- Experience configuring and interpreting monitoring with tools such as Prometheus, Zabbix or Grafana.
- Linux environment configuration skills.
- Python or Bash scripting for routine tasks.
- Database performance optimisation experience.
Commercial experience
We consider Junior+, Middle and Senior specialists. Each field requires at least six months of relevant commercial experience. Courses and personal projects can add to it.
Courses and personal projects do not replace commercial experience.
Experience using AI tools in commercial work is a plus, with results checked through tests and review and confidentiality respected.
